The second Artist in our ‘Canvas’ art programme, Jennifer Louise Martin, has just revealed the first completed work – a customised Overall, combining paint, knit and embroidery. It’s a beauty.
We will ultimately be selling 10 Overalls when the ‘Layers’ show starts on August 2.

Last weekend was Carnaby Style Weekender in association with GQ Magazine. Carnaby Street was awash with people, in-store deals and events.
On the Friday evening, I spoke on a panel alongside Dane Butler of celebrated fashion eyewear company Finlay & Co, hosted by Fashion consultant Toby Meadows. The discussion focused on our experiences of start-ups in Fashion.
We have long been fans of Winchester store The Hambledon for their perfectly curated Womenswear, Menswear and Homewares.
Last weekend they launched our SS18 collection in-store with some great styling shots and this interview in their online Journal.

When a French friend spots your mug in Metropolitan Magazine on Eurostar and sends you this grainy photo, it is cause to celebrate the arrival of M.C.Overalls in Paris with the launch of Collection 2 at L’Habilleur – our first European stockist… And a questionable excuse for a bad pun. Yes we will update the image when we get a better photo.
Yesterday we started a unique collaboration between BIF, M.C.Overalls and 2nd year students of University of Westminster’s Fashion Marketing & Promotion BA Hons: 0-1.
Alongside BIF head honcho Matt Hart, we kicked off a learning programme which explored the mindset to get from 0 to 1 in the workplace – combining some neuroscience with practical insight into how to harness your creativity in an enterprise economy: learning by doing, finding inspiration and long, hard yards. A far cry from the traditional weight of worrying about a ‘career’…
We have invited the students to a series of workshops at our store, in which other brand owners and fashion leads get to tell their 0-1 story.
Finally, we set the students a real brief about our business. In due course, they will get to execute it with us.
It is after all #ApprenticeshipWeek.
